Business Spotlight - Wilderness Trace Solar, Inc.
Wilderness Trace Solar, Inc., Danville’s solar energy provider, was founded by Ken Scott on June 1, 2015. Scott purchased a small solar panel manufacturing unity at an auction, hired 2 former Alternative Energies Kentucky employees, and the rest they say is history. Their passion’s collided on the promotion of renewable energy and solar power systems.
Wilderness Trace Solar, Inc. provides custom design and installation of residential, agricultural, commercial, and institutional solar power systems which includes sales and service. When looking for a place for their business, it was easy because Danville is home. They found “big interest in renewable energy and a commitment to preserving and improving our environment.”
Laura Zaspel, office manager, believes there is “magic for being able to live and work in my community – it begins with the reduction of my personal carbon footprint – my short commute.” She goes on to say that, “the business community in Danville is very supportive and we help each other by buying locally and networking together to be in service to our neighbors.”
Currently, Wilderness Trace Solar, Inc. is working on a Riparian Project involving the water drainage ditch between their building and the Boyle County Detention Center. Their idea is to “establish a pollinator’s paradise by planting native species.” They are very proud to be a part of the forward motion for renewable energy and enjoy playing an integral part in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
They have a busy schedule coming up this year! This spring, they will be participating in the following expos: Central KY Builder’s Association, Central KY Home and Garden, KY Green Living Fair at the Center for Rural Development, and Danville’s Community Earth Day Celebration.
We, at Heart of Danville, are proud to have them as a “Business Plus” Member.
