  • Help Santa and the Heart of Danville on December 2

  • November keeps rolling right along, which means the big jolly elf himself will be back in Danville soon! We're very excited about Santa's Winter Workshop and Tree Lighting at Weisiger Plaza on December 2, 5:30-8:00 pm, where you'll be able to enjoy holiday music, hot chocolate, kettle corn and more, including pictures with Santa!
Families may start taking photos with Santa at 5:30, and the picture-taking will pause at 6:30 for the Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring the Danville Children's Choir. Following the ceremony, photos will resume until 8:00 and there will also be a reception at the Community Arts Center and a chili supper at the Danville Fire Department.
Despite the fact that he can see you when you're sleeping and knows when you're awake, Santa needs some help for this great event! The Heart of Danville is inviting organizations and businesses in town to host a table with a small activity or game to share with kids and families from 5:30 to 8:00. This could involve anything from making ornaments or gingerbread houses, to playing a winter-themed version of corn hole.
If you are interested in participating in Santa's Winter Workshop & Tree Lighting event, please email us at info@downtowndanville.com. Stay up to date on the event through the Facebook page, here. We hope that you will help us add to the fun and festivities on December 2!
