    Sidewalk Cafe Information

A sidewalk cafe means an outdoor area that is temporarily situated on a public sidewalk where food and/or alcohol will be served. If a business is in the Downtown zoning, then the business would need to apply for a Conditional Use Permit from the Board of Adjustments, found here. If the business plans to serve alcohol, it would need to go through the AHB for approval and tables and chairs must be put up at night per their rules.

The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requires 3 feet of walking clearance as well. Feel free to stop by the office for a pamphlet on the BOA hearing, and a CUP application copy. Or, these forms are available online, at danvilleky.org. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions. The Board of Adjustments decides if the tables and chairs will be permitted and if they need additional restrictions placed on them.
