  • Welcome to the Heart of Danville!
    Jane Barleycorns 1

Take a stroll around and learn more about our Main Street organization and the team of players that makes what we do possible.

Downtown Danville has a lot to offer.  Between the quaint charm of our downtown streetscape and the important chapters of history, you will find innovative and unique businesses – local pubs and microbreweries, day spas and long-time barbershops, surgery centers, and photography studios.

The Heart of Danville 's three-pronged efforts focus on fostering historic preservation, supporting economic vitality and small businesses, and sponsoring great events because the intimate and vibrant environment is ideal for meeting up with friends and family, exploring history, shopping, dining out, or carrying out business.

Nothing is as good as the real experience and we invite you to come visit Danville whether to work, play, or wander about.  We’ll see you downtown!

  • Celebrate the Season at Santa's Winter Workshop and Tree Lighting

The lights have been hung on the trees, a chill has arrived in the air, and the only logical thing to happen next is Santa Claus arriving in Danville!

On Friday, December 2, Santa's Winter Workshop and Tree Lighting will take place in Weisiger Plaza from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Following Santa's grand entrance at 5:30, he will be available to take photos with families. There will also be music, kettle corn and hot chocolate, and activities and crafts hosted by local organizations. You may even spy a few of Santa's rein-dogs!

The Mayor's Tree Lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30, during which photos with Santa Claus will pause. Following the ceremony will be a reception in the Community Arts Center, as well as the Danville Fire Department's annual chili supper.
This promises to be a holly, jolly evening full of family fun. We look forward to seeing you downtown on December 2!

Heart of Danville was organized in 1986 by citizens concerned about the continuing threats to commercial architecture of Danville's historic business district and aware of the need to stimulate economic revitalization in downtown.
